| Simona
Atzori was born in Milan (Italy) in 1974, she starts painting
and dancing very young, at the age of 4 she has her first art
exhibition and at six she starts studying ballet.
Is the painter and writer Cav. Mario Barzon to discover Simona’s
talent and to support her artistically. In 1983 Simona joins the
International Association of mouth and foot painters (V.D.M.F.K.
)
She
takes part of many art exhibitions all over the world, Italy,
Canada, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Spain etc.
An
important moment that defines her artistic career as well as her
life, is the meeting with the Pope in march of 1992. During that
occasion, Simona presents to Pope John Paul II a portrait of the
Holy father.
In
1996 she chooses to study in Canada at the University of Western
Ontario. She graduates in 2001 from the faculty of Visual Arts
with honors.
Simona was able to combine both of her passions, two different
aspects of the visual arts: painting and dancing obtaining many
international recognitions and awards.
She has been appointed ambassador for Dance of the Great Jubilee
of 2000, bringing, for the first time in history, Dance inside
a church with a choreography included in the great multimedia
Encyclopedia of the Vatican.
She was also able to bring painting on stage during the “International
Festival of the different abilities in Carpi (Modena), Italy,
receiving lots of success with the choreography “Legami”
.
She
received many international acknowledgements, among which The
Michelangelo award for Dance in 2000, the critic price at the
14th International Choreographic Contest. in Hanover (Germany),
and during the Holland Dance Festival in 2001.
She
has been Testimonial of the Pescara Dance Festival where she danced
with many important dancers. An artistic award took her name at
the Pescara Dance Festival. She had the honour of giving the "Atzori"
award to some of the most famous dance choreographers and dancers.
In
2003 Simona has been invited as a guest to the important gala
event "Danza & Danza award" at the "Nuovo Teatro
Comunale" in Bolzano, Italy. She danced a coreography ofi
Roberto Lun called "Rakam".
On
the 8th and 9th of April 2004, Simona was engaged as a solist
dancer for the role of "Columba" in the production "Rockquem"
in Bolzano. The tour continued in Hungary and Norway.
She won a prize at the exhbition "L'Arte di Essere"
at the "Università degli Studi di Roma, "La Sapienza"
in Rome, Italy.
Simona is performing around the world and showing her art internationally.
